the catlins national park is a slice of heaven found of the south coast of the south island. from driving past paddock after paddock full of live stock, you are surrounded by more cows than people. you then begin to glide over grassy hills until you find what the drive has been all about, the sea.

it's a magnet here for swell, with bays and points firing on the right conditions. pack up your boards and go explore. you'll find next to no crowds in the water, the only guys giving you hassle in the line up are the sea lions!
